With the walk IN THE FOOTSPORTS OF... you are invited to discover Genk and its landscape, following in the footsteps of historical and contemporary artists who found inspiration there since the mid-19th century, and still do today.
The walk leads you from villa Le Coin Perdu, today the Emile Van Doren Museum, along the Molenvijver to the Heempark and back. At a few places you will stop for a moment and look through an artist's eyes at the landscape that inspired the creation of a special work of art.
- Start and end point is the Emile Van Doren Museum.
- The walk is about 3 kilometres long. You can also extend the walk by going into the centre of Genk or continue towards Kattevennen (gateway National Park Hoge Kempen) and follow the Stokkenmannen walk there.
- There is an alternative route for wheelchairs / buggies. This is marked on the walking map (only in dutch).
- Do the walk with the HeritageApp for even more background information and images.
- Want to walk in a group, accompanied by a guide? You can! Book your group walk via or +32 (0)89 65 38 10. A guide costs 80 euros.
