Bokrijk has provided a number of extra facilities, making the park accessible and enjoyable for people with disabilities. The pathways in the Open Air Museum are paved, so that wheelchairs and other disability vehicles can move through the entire museum. Mobility scooters are requested to respect a maximum speed of 5 km/h. Where possible, the houses in the Open Air Museum are wheelchair-accessible. Assistance dogs are also welcome everywhere in Bokrijk. Car parks 1 and 2 have spaces reserved for visitors with a disability.
Prices and discounts
Visitors with a disability can access the museum at a discounted rate. Assistants of visitors with a disability get free access to the Open Air Museum. In case of a non-visible disability, a certificate is kindly requested; for clearly visible disabilities, this is not required. Free parking is also provided, with reserved spaces in both car parks. Don't forget to place your 'blue card' or European Disability Card behind the windscreen. Playground
Special equipment is provided in the playground. These devices are marked with dedicated signage.
Walks
The park is fully equipped with paved walkways. Various beautiful routes are available. Maps for walking are available at the information centre, with the routes suitable for wheelchairs and prams clearly marked. Be sure to take a look at Cycling through Water!
'The Sixties'
The Sixties is accessible for wheelchair users: special facilities are provided. Wheelchairs are provided free of charge at the ticket desks.
Accessibility for strollers
The Open Air Museum and the playground are accessible for strollers. However, The Sixties is not accessible for strollers. These must be left at the designated location. Bokrijk cannot be held liable in the event of theft, loss or damage.
