Bike sharing with Hoppy
From April 2024, electric Hoppy share bikes will be scattered around the city of Genk. With the electric bike, you can easily get from point a to point b, in Genk.
How does it work?
Quite simply:
- Download the Hoppy app and register.
- Find the nearest Hoppy e-bike.
- Scan the QR code to unlock. And off you go!
- After your ride, park the e-bike in one of the parking zones indicated in the app. Lock the bike and end your ride in the app.
Cost price Hoppy
- Activation cost (unlocking the bike): 1 euro
- Per started minute you pay 0.25 euros.
- You can also pause your ride. This can be done at 0.05 euro. No activation cost for restarts
- Hourly rate: 7.95 euros
- Daily rate: 14.95 euro
- You can reserve a bike at 1 euro for half an hour. That way you can be sure the Hoppy bike is still there when you want to unlock it.
Users see the cost price directly in the application when they click on a bike. They can also find the prices in the support module and on the website.
Promo: As a promotional offer, there is a special discount code ‘WELCOMEGENK’, which entitles every Genk resident to 10 minutes of free riding! This code can be used as many as 3,600 times.
Payment can be made by charging your wallet with a credit or debit card. Hoppy also offers various subscriptions:

- Month: three 30-minute rides every day for only 39.95 euros
- With a subscription there is no activation cost
